KANYE'S NEW WATCH

Tiret has a nice little thing going for itself when it comes to high-status celebs who want some of them, on their wrist. I previously wrote about a watch that Tiret made for Usher here. The same concept (but done differently) was applied to a watch for musician Kanye West. You have the same oblong "Second Chance" watch case design, in 18k yellow gold. Coming with a gold bracelet or reptile strap, Kanye seems to be enjoying his (as he seems to wear it a lot). 

The watch dial features two Swiss quartz chronograph movements. So you have two times, two chronographs, etc... The real allure is in all the jewel work. Tiret claims it took them over five months to create the dial. The dial itself is in gold toned mother-of-pearl, with a combo of white, yellow, brown, and black diamonds. The bezel is lined with very large diamonds as well. The watch is said to have a total of about 8 carats of stones. Kayne's face has been immortalized on the dial - complete with sunglasses. Retail price for this is said to be about $180,000, and is custom made specially for each client. 
I like Kanye and I like watches but not this.

THIEVES STEAL ALMOST 1 MIILION IN JEWELRY

Three brazen bandits ransacked a Manhattan diamond store and walked away with nearly $900,000 worth of baubles in a heist reminiscent of the movie "Ocean's Eleven."

Police yesterday released a 24-second video of the thieves -- who wore masks, hats and dark clothing -- using their gloved hands to quickly empty display cases at Ultra Diamond on Sixth Avenue at 23rd Street, in the Flatiron
District, at 5 p.m. Christmas Day.

In a break-in style similar to one portrayed in the hit 2001 George Clooney movie about a Las Vegas casino robbery, the crafty crooks climbed to the roof of an adjacent building and crossed over to the roof of the store, which also houses a Burlington Coat Factory.

Two of them smashed a hole in the store's wall, possibly with a sledgehammer and crawled inside, according to law-enforcement sources.

To cover their tracks, they managed to disable some of the store's video cameras and its recording system.

But they didn't foil all of the surveillance equipment, because investigators found at least one camera still functioning, sources said.It provided the video that police released yesterday.

While inside, the bandits used a claw hammer to smash several glass display cases, and began piling up their loot.

As this was going on, one of the crooks used a cellphone to alert the third man, who snaked his way through the hole in the wall.

All three men, who seemed to be highly professional, then broke into an office in the store and looted more jewelry from a safe.

When they were done, the men left through the hole in the wall with their loot, which included gold and platinum wedding bands, diamond engagement rings, watches, earrings, bracelets and other jewelry.

The total haul was valued at $897,000, but cost $321,000 wholesale.

Look for all this stuff on ebay or craigslist.

DUMBASS OF THE DAY KENDALL LANGFORD OF MIAMI DOLPHINS

Miami Dolphins defensive end Kendall Langford  lost a 2.5-carat diamond earring at practice on Tuesday. Langford forgot to take out the pricey piece of jewelry and it went missing on the field. The piece was not insured. Langford and his teammates carefully searched for the diamond but did not locate it and eventually left the field for a team meeting. The grounds crew combed the turf but the earring was not recovered. Langford has not said what the earring's value was but a pair of earrings of that size could be worth around $50,000. Can you say dumbass.

LEBRON PENDANT SHOWS UP AT YARD SALE

Vaneisha Robinson  paid $5 for a pendant in the shape of LeBron James' number 23 jersey at a yard sale four years ago.

Robinson thought it was costume jewelry until she had it appraised and certified by International Gemological Institute, which said the diamond-studded, gold jewelry was real and valued at nearly $10,000.
The amateur boxer put the pendant up for sale on eBay, hoping to use the proceeds to open her own gym.
On Wednesday, Robinson said she got a phone call that turned her dream into a nightmare. Robinson said it was Katherine L. Powers, the mother of Maverick O. Carter. Carter is the CEO of LeBron James' marketing company, LRMR.
"[Powers] said that LeBron James was at her house and they wanted me to come over there. They were going to make me an offer that I couldn't refuse," Robinson said.
It turned out the one-of-a-kind pendant belongs to Carter, who claims it was stolen. Robinson said she and her mother went to the Wadsworth house Carter shares
