MICROSOFT HAS A NEW MOUSE
It's not official until Microsoft says it is, but the image above of the rumored Microsoft Arc Touch Mouse was just snagged off a German online store. Amazingly, the mouse arches its back for comfortable mousing before packing flat for easy transport. The mouse features touch-scrolling, a battery indicator, the ability to track on most any surface, and a 2.4GHz nano transceiver that no doubt plugs into your laptop's USB port. Yours soon for $69.99. Looks weird but ok let's try it.

WHO NEEDS COLLEGE SAYA BILL GATES
For all his success, apparently he's still not a fan of college, though. Despite receiving an honorary degree from Harvard in 2007, Gates' closing speech [video] at the Techonomy 2010 conference delivered criticism of colleges today.
Gates calls college education "increasingly hard to get" and says that "place-based" traditional college studies will be "five times less important than it is today."
He argues, "The self-motivated learner will be on the web. And there will be far less place-based [college] things...College -- except for the parties -- needs to be less place based."
I agree college just preparesd you to work for someone else.

WHO MESSED UP THIS AD
More problems for Microsoft.
Microsoft says it's not responsible for an Internet ad for its search engine, that showed an image of murdered 7-year-old, Somer Thompson.
The little girl was abducted and killed near her Orange park home last year, and her picture had been showing up on an advertisement for Microsoft's BING search engine. Microsoft says the ad was actually provided through Yahoo's advertising partner, and they are aware of the situation. So far Yahoo has not commented on the situation. Some web advertisers use randomly generated images to drive traffic to those ads. Those images are sometimes based on pictures associated with popular web searches. It's not clear if that was the case with this ad, or if the image was used purposefully.
Microsoft is so big they cant't keep up with what's going on.

THIS IS WHY EVERYTHING IS MADE IN CHINA
This photo and others like it were smuggled out of the KYE Systems factory at Dongguan, China, as part of a three-year investigation by the National Labour Committee, a human rights organisation which campaigns for workers across the globe.
The mostly female workers, aged 18 to 25, work from 7.45am to 10.55pm, sometimes with 1,000 workers crammed into one 105ft by 105ft room.
They are not allowed to talk or listen to music, are forced to eat substandard meals from the factory cafeterias, have no bathroom breaks during their shifts and must clean the toilets as discipline, according to the NLC.
The workers also sleep on site, in factory dormitories, with 14 workers to a room. They must buy their own mattresses and bedding, or else sleep on 28in-wide plywood boards. They 'shower' with a sponge and a bucket.
And many of the workers, because they are young women, are regularly sexually harassed, the NLC claimed.
The organisation said that one worker was even fined for losing his finger while operating a hole punch press.
Microsoft is not the only company to outsource manufacturing to KYE, but it accounts for about 30 per cent of the factory's work, the NLC said. Companies such as Hewlett-Packard, Samsung, Foxconn, Acer, Logitech and Asus also use KYE Systems.
Even though we all know this is going on, where else are you going to buy electronics from. Everything is made in China.
