ANOTHER COOL FERRARI
Ferrari is introducing a new V8 supercar, you know there's more to come. A Spider version. A Challenge racer. Probably a CS/Scuderia-style hardcore street version somewhere down the line. And yes, a GT2 racing version. This is a cool car.

FERRARI APERTA COOL
The 2011 Ferrari SA Aperta ($TBA) is a super-sexy drop-top version of the company's 599 GTB Fiorano, named for legendary designers Sergio and Andrea Pininfarina, and sporting a front-engine V12, virtually no ground clearance, integrated roll-bars, a very light soft top meant for emergency use only, and stiffness and weight similar to that of the hard-top version thanks to some fancy engineering. Unfortunately, only 80 are being made, and all 80 have already been sold.
I'm picking up mine this week, yeah right.

FERRARI'S ON RECALL
Ferrari announced Wednesday it had recalled all versions of its model 458 Italia sports car produced before July 2010 after four of them caught fire.
“Our dealers are going to call clients and tell them to bring back their cars so that the necessary modifications can be carried out,” a spokesman told AFP. The recall involves 1,248 vehicles worldwide, the official said.
Ferrari last week opened an enquiry after four of its vehicles caught fire spontaneously in California, China, France and Switzerland.
The investigation had shown problems with the mounting, adhesive, heat shields and wheel arch assembly, the spokesman said.
“High outside temperatures and intensive use of the vehicle cause a distortion and the vehicle catches fire,” he said, adding that the modification will include replacing the heat shields.
Sucks if you paid all that money and your car blows up.

TURKISH SINGER SETS SPEED RECORD
A Turkish singer just set a land speed record, making him the fastest man on the planet when his Ferrari F430 averaged 182 miles per hour during a record run down a runway at an airport in eastern Turkey. Now, if 182 mph doesn't sound fast enough to set a world land speed record, know that the driver was blind... and alone in the car. Scary! Metin Senturk became the fastest blind man driving solo with his Guinness-verified speed of 292.89 kilometers per hour (182 mph).
Senturk was followed down the runway by his driving coach, former rally driver Volkan Isik, who relayed instructions to Senturk via radio. The driver is a pop singer in Turkey who has been blind since the age of three. He said that the record run, "was really hard, like a dance with death." When Senturk emerged from his borrowed car, he was told by the Guinness people that he had bested the old record of 284 kph, held by a British bank manager.

THIS IS WHAT ELIN DID TO TIGER'S OTHER CAR
Just kidding but seriously, this Ferrari 360 Modena was spotted on fire on the US-101 highway in California over the weekend. Details about how the fire started were not available, but one things for sure – the owner must be pissed as I would be as well. Hell maybe a Ferrari recall is coming.
