YOU MIGHT NEED THIS WHEN YOUR EX VISITS: BULLETPROOF CLIPBOARD
File this under cool stuff. Whether you work in a super rugged environment or just want a more effective sheild than your fourth wife, the Bulletproof Clipboard ($45) should serve you well. Made from a slab of Level II body armor, this crazy clipboard can stop 9mm rounds dead in their tracks, and is also useful for, you know, holding paper.

THIS USB TURNTABLE IS WHAT I NEED
Well if you own a bunch of records and your turn table is broken, fret not – you won’t have to spend a fortune replacing your turn table. The folks at Evergreen have just released a USB Record Player Turntable (DN-USB-TP01) – like its name says, this record player connects to your computer through a USB cable and outputs the audio on your through your computer instead. Though the turntable also has analog audio output jacks for those of you with suitable speakers. Relive the days of the vinyl today on your very own computer. The DN-USB-TP01 is on sale now for around $49 here. This can go with the Sneaker speakers.

COOL AIR FORCE 1 SPEAKERS
The Sneaker Speakers were made by high-end sneaker customizer Nashmoney for the recent Inspired Ingenuity creative competition for Havana Club. They’re made from a pair of Nike Air Force 1 sneakers, with a full-range and tweeter loaded into each shoe, along with volume controls, an amplifier and controls built into the right shoe (er, left speaker.) One of the coolest things I have seen this year.

THIS IS COOL DIGITAL GUITAR
The Misa Kitara Digital Guitar ($850) melds the traditional guitar shape with new technology to create an instrument that's instantly familiar and yet unlike anything you've played before. In place of the bridge sits an eight-inch multitouch screen which allows for a wide range of playing techniques, while buttons on the fretboard serve up the notes from the built-in database of more than one hundred sounds — and if that's not enough for you, you can always use the Kitara as a MIDI controller. I got it on my birthday list.

ANOTHER COOL TOY: JETLEV
Jetlev Flyer ($99,500). This crazy, water-powered backpack uses a 250hp motor and fuel tank at the water's surface to send gallons of the wet stuff up to the seat, where it's blasted back down to the ground, providing a maximum top speed of 22 mph and a maximum height of 28 feet, limited by the hose.
Nice way to waste $99 thousand.

IPHONE GADGETS KEEP POPPING UP
While devices like Sphero or Parrot’s AR.Drone that use the iPhone or iPod Touch as a remote control usually just rely on the device’s built-in wifi or Bluetooth, these AppToyz, from a UK-based company called MediaSauce, use a cheap add-on dongle to communicate over RF I assume.
And instead of interfacing with the dock connector on the bottom of the iPhone or iPod Touch, the AppToyz dongle plugs into the headphone jack which seems to be standard procedure for third-party remote control hardware like this. As a result, when available sometime this year, they’ll be a bit more affordable than something like the AR.Drone with an RC helicopter selling for ~$80 (£50) and an RC car that’s a bit cheaper at ~$47 (£30).
I guess this is cool if you lose your original remote.

SOLAR POWER IPHONE CHARGER
If you can still see the sun where you live, you could be charging your iPhone with its power thanks to the Eton Mobius ($TBA). This battery pack/case/solar charger is custom cut to fit your iPhone 4, and features a battery large enough to double your iPhone's runtime, a rear-mounted monocrystal solar panel, open access to all ports and controls, and a jeans-friendly form factor that won't necessitate bringing a bag along with you.
They need to make this for all phones.

I NEED THIS REMOTE
With Motorola’s R331 rechargeable remote you’ll never have to search for replacement batteries, or even the remote itself, ever again. It comes with a dock for charging its internal battery, so every once in a while you just need to remember to use it to keep the remote working. And if your remote has gone MIA in the living room or wherever you use it, the dock has an audible find function making it easy to locate as long as it hasn’t left your home. The R331 is designed to be a replacement for the standard remote included with Motorola’s VIP Set-top box.
I need this like yesturday.

TECH TUESDAY: VIZIO PHONE AND TABLET
Some companies started with a core computer business and expanded into entertainment. Vizio is taking the opposite approach with its Vizio Smartphone & Tablet ($TBA). Officially called the VIA Phone and VIA Tablet — after the company's Internet Apps — these Android-based gadgets will both sport integrated IR blasters and a matching app for controlling the big screen, while 1GHz processors, 4-inch and 8-inch screens, HDMI outputs, GPS, 802.11n Wi-Fi, Micro SD card slots, and Bluetooth connectivity round out the feature sets. Coming sometime between tomorrow and the end of humanity at the hands of Cthulhu.
Pretty cool if you can sync them together.

MICROSOFT HAS A NEW MOUSE
It's not official until Microsoft says it is, but the image above of the rumored Microsoft Arc Touch Mouse was just snagged off a German online store. Amazingly, the mouse arches its back for comfortable mousing before packing flat for easy transport. The mouse features touch-scrolling, a battery indicator, the ability to track on most any surface, and a 2.4GHz nano transceiver that no doubt plugs into your laptop's USB port. Yours soon for $69.99. Looks weird but ok let's try it.

WHAT IDIOT WOULD BUY THIS IPHONE
Check out the 24ct solid gold iPhone 4 design by Stuart Hughes – known to create luxury customizations of cellphones and gadgets. If you want one, your looking at spending $33,490 without the contract and crappy At&T service.

FANCY GPS WATCH
The Far From Home concept GPS bracelet won't be able to let you bring your home with you, but it will function as a digital watch, and its built-in GPS functionality will also indicate via icons the distance you currently are from your home. Looks kinda funny but if it works what the hell.

TOLD YALL THE IPHONE SUCKS, ALREADY HAS ANTENNA PROBLEMS
I would never buy an Iphone. Why would you buy a phone that you have to hold a certain way? Buy the way, didn' t Apple start off as a computer company, I guess now it's turning into a phone company.

COOL RETRO WATCH
The Mixtape Watch, by EOS, replaces the standard watch face with an anodized black stainless steel cassette. Inside this cassette, two tape-like dials (one for hours, one for minutes) spin to tell the time.
Kitschy? For certain. But you stick some Journey on here and you're golden. (Coincidentally, gold and blue versions of the watch are available as well, all priced at $135. I'm definately getting one.

SATELLITE GONE ROUGE: LIKE SARAH PALIN
Scientists have no idea how to stop a fully powered satellite that has gone rogue and is no longer accepting orders from earth. This so-called "zombie" satellite, known as Galaxy 15 (which carried the SyFy channel), continues along in the Earth's orbit — on a course to interfere with the communications of a fully functioning SES satellite beaming down programming to its customers in Luxembourg. In my opinion I think aliens have taken over the satellite and are now spying on us earthlings. Hey it could happen.

DOUBLE SIDED IPHONE TRANSLATION APP
Translation programs have always been troublesome as you need to keep switching back and forth between languages, since both parties generally don’t understand what each other is saying. Now an upcoming iPhone app is looking to tackle that problem by providing a double-ended multilingual translator. What it does is it offers two sets of keyboards, one for each party, allowing each person to type in their own native language and have the sentence translated at the other end, allowing both parties to converse easily. There will be 51 different languages supported, including non-Latin keyboards for languages such as Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Russian, Thai, Czech, Hebrew and Ukrainian. Seems pretty cool if going overseas.

A COOL BOAT BY ARKKI
Apparently designed by Cylons, the trimaran's surface is covered with multilayered solar panels, which power the ship and can bring her up to 8 knots. The hull is made of concrete and reinforced with plastic fibers. It has 1647 feet of interior space and a 1076-foot exterior wood deck.
I will definately pick this up this weekend.
