MORE RACISM @ UC SANDIEGO

A firestorm over racially and ethnically charged incidents at several University of California campuses spread Tuesday as UC San Diego announced a KKK-style hood was found on campus and students in Los Angeles and Irvine demonstrated against intolerance. At UC Irvine, about 250 people gathered for a "student solidarity speakout" to condemn the recent spate of racist incidents at UC San Diego that targeted black students and another incident last month at UC Davis, which targeted a Jewish student with a swastika carved on her door, said Marya Bangee, an event organizer. WAKE UP TO WOLVERINE

Turn your tv on to a Wolverine screen. Comic publishing powerhouse Marvel has formed a partnership with RTC23, rolling out what they dub to be “the ultimate comic fan’s TV”. Coming in 22", 32", 42" and 55" LCD displays as well as 40" and 46" LED HDTVs, you will find Iron Man, Captain America, The Hulk, Wolverine, Thor and other loved characters located on the bottom corners of the frame. Not only that, whenever you turn the TV on, they will appear as a themed splash screen for 8 seconds before you get on with your show. Nothing exactly useful here, but it does keep grown up kids happy

TAKE YOUR MUSIC TO THE TUB

Having a long soak in the bathtub might be relaxing, but there’s nothing like music to make a good situation better, right? That’s probably what the folks at Idea Label were thinking when they designed the Music Planet, a portable ball-shaped MP3 player that can float in your bath tub. Aside from its stereo speakers, the device certainly seems very useful, especially if you plan to sing while you take a long bath. It’s currently only available in Japan, but you could probably import it, though at $120, it’s not exactly the cheapest device in town, but it certainly seems fun and useful.
