WOMAN SOLVES HER OWN KIDNAPPING 23 YEARS LATER

More than two decades ago, a newborn sick with fever was snatched from a New York City hospital, her frantic mother returning to the emergency room to find an empty crib. Police said the baby - now a woman - has been found.


It was a remarkable reunion after Carlina White tracked down the mother she was stolen from 23 years ago when the then-19-day-old was taken from Harlem Hospital.
Now, Joy White and Carlina are back together again.
Joy was 16 years old when she and her husband, Carl Tyson, took their daughter to the hospital on Aug. 4, 1987. Two hours later, they were devastated to learn that their baby was gone, lifted out of the pediatrics ward.


Carlina is now 23 and was raised as Nejdra Nance in Bridgeport, Connecticut and Georgia, while her real mother lived with her grief in the Bronx.
As a teenager, Carlina came to believe she was not related to the family that was raising her. She began to check missing children websites, and she eventually found her own case.
She called the website for help, and they called Joy, the mother who had kept her baby's picture on display all these years.
"She said she just had a feeling, she felt different from the people raising her," said Nance's maternal grandmother, Elizabeth White, 71. "She searched, and then she found Joy."
DNA testing proved Carlina was the stolen child.
Criminal charges for the abduction are possible, as there's no statute of limitations. Meanwhile, after decades apart, the reunion has gone well.
Well at least the story had a happy ending.

10 YEAR OLD GIVES BIRTH

A 10 year-old girl has given birth in southern Spain and authorities are evaluating whether to let her and her family retain custody of the baby. 
The baby was born last week in the city of Jerez de la Frontera, said Micaela Navarro, the Andalusia region's social affairs minister.

Miss Navarro said the father of the baby is also a minor, and both the mother and the baby were in good health. Her department declined to give details, including the sex of the baby, but said authorities do not consider this a case of rape and that no criminal investigation is under way.
Under Spanish law, having consensual sex with someone under age 13 is classified as child abuse, an official with the Spanish Justice Ministry in Madrid said. But this particular case is complicated by the fact that the father of the baby is also a minor and it is not clear if he could be charged, the official said.
Man these kids are starting early. At this rate they will be in the same calss at the same time.

An Indian villager, Couthi Bai's breasts feeds a baby calf. Bai breastfeeds the calf three to four times a day.
She said: "After her mother died, I held her in my arms and breastfed her. I nurtured her by feeding her my milk. She was so young when the cow died. For me, there is no dfference between a calf and an infant."
Maybe she is single and just likes for someting to suck on her breasts Cause she's obviously not the beauty queen of trhe village.

Remember the recent, disturbing video of a two-year-old Indonesian boy chain-smoking?
It went viral, spreading quickly across TV talk shows and newscasts, sparking outrage and disbelief.
So, reports CBS News Correspondent Jeff Glor, a CBS News team travelled to the Indonesian island of Sumatra in search of the boy.
And just before midnight, our crew found Aldi Suganda, in the quiet fishing village of Musi Bbanyuasin -- lit cigarette in-hand:
At home, Aldi plays with toys and grips a bottle.
But his tiny hands also light cigarettes with the familiarity of a seasoned smoker.
Man you can get rich selling cigarettes to this kid.

ANOTHER KID WITH A SMOKING HABIT

Chinese toddler Ya Wen started downing pints and smoking up to a pack a day after being struck by a speeding van and spending five days in a coma, her parents told the Yangcheng Evening Post.
"She likes drinking," her mother, Gao Wen, said.
"Three glasses of beer is no problem to her."
Gao Wen said her daughter's personality changed dramatically and she started acting like an adult shortly after leaving the hospital.
First, she was busted hiding in the toilet smoking her dad's cigs. Then she began stealing them from a store - until the owner let her have them on credit.
"The first time I found her smoking was in the toilet," her mother said.
"Before that, I often saw cigarette butts in the toilet but thought they were my husband's, until I saw my daughter smoking there."
The store owner said he assumed the child was buying the butts for Dear Old Dad, adding that the child would take up to two packs away at a time.
Next thing you know an infant is going to be hooked on cigarette and 40 ounces.This is crazy. Video when you jump.

MARIAH CAREY LEAVES FILM

Mariah Carey will no longer be appearing in Tyler Perry’s next film. “People” magazine is reporting that the singer has pulled out of “For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow is Enuf.” Filming was scheduled to begin next month. It has been rumored that Carey and husband Nick Cannon are expecting their first child, but Carey’s spokeswoman would not confirm the speculation. Cindi Berger tells “People,” quote, “I’m not at liberty to discuss her personal life at this time.” Cannon previously discussed their desire to have a child saying, quote, “We’re going to do it, and when we do it we’re going to let you all know.”



“For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow is Enuf” will star Whoopi Goldberg, Janet Jackson, and Kerry Washington. The film is scheduled to premiere on January 14th, 2011.

THIS IS WHAT A SMOKING TOODLER LOOKS LIKE

This is the two-year-old Indonesian boy who throws a tantrum when his parents refuse him a cigarette.

Ardi Rizal was given his first cigarette by his father when he was just 18-months-old.
The smoking toddler was witnessed by a reporter who recently visited his home in the fishing village of Musi Banyuasin, in Indonesia's South Sumatra province.
'I'm not worried about his health, he looks healthy,' shrugged the boy's father Mohammad Rizal.
'He cries and throws tantrums when we don't let him smoke. He's addicted.'
Ardi's youth is the extreme of a disturbing trend. Data from the Central Statistics Agency showed 25 per cent of Indonesian children aged three to 15 have tried cigarettes, with 3.2 per cent of those active smokers.
The percentage of five to nine year olds lighting up increased from 0.4 per cent in 2001 to 2.8 per cent in 2004, the agency reported.
A video of a four-year-old Indonesian boy blowing smoke rings appeared briefly on YouTube in March, prompting outrage before it was removed from the site. Hey let him smoke. Maybe then he might lose some weight and not die from heart disease.
