WHERE DID THIS VOICE COME FROM

When soft-spoken 24-year-old Carlos Apponte told the cameras that he wanted to be famous like Frank Sinatra, it was hard to take him seriously. After all, this wedding singer from Puerto Rico was just so nervous about his audition. As soon as he hit the first notes, however, it was clear the judges had found themselves a possible Susan Boyle: It was unexpected and even fantastic, as Howie pointed out. As for Piers, he immediately felt goose bumps — and while Carlos may not have known what those are, he knew it was a good thing. Next time we see Carlos, he'll be in Las Vegas.
I was actually watching this show when this came on and I can say he shocked everyone.
