DENNIS HOPPER DIES

Dennis Hopper died at his home in Venice, CA today. He was 74 We're told his family was by his side when he passed. 
Hopper had recently been suffering from prostate cancer and going through a difficult divorce from his wife Victoria.
Hopper is best known for starring in the 1969 classic "Easy Rider."

LOOK OUT FOR ANOTHER MOVIE: SINGLE LADIES

While I was walking to Kroger on Piedmont I saw all these dressed up people and was wondering what kind of event was going on. Well I found out that VH1 earlier this month began shooting a new movie “Single Ladies” here in Atlanta starring Lauren London (”ATL”), Lisa Raye McCoy ( “All of Us”) and Stacy Dash (”Clueless”).
The film is about three African-American single women in Atlanta “Sex and the City” style. VH1, with reality shows such as “Basketball Wives” and “What Chilli Wants,” has been aggressively building its audience among African-American women.
Queen Latifah’s company Flavor Unit Entertainment is producing it but I have no idea if she’ll actually pop up on screen.
McCoy is half sister of Atlanta rap artist Da Brat and is on a TV One reality show about herself called “Lisa Raye: The Real McCoy”).
The film, which has nothing to do with Beyonce despite the title, isn’t set to make it on VH1 until 2011.

MARIAH CAREY LEAVES FILM

Mariah Carey will no longer be appearing in Tyler Perry’s next film. “People” magazine is reporting that the singer has pulled out of “For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow is Enuf.” Filming was scheduled to begin next month. It has been rumored that Carey and husband Nick Cannon are expecting their first child, but Carey’s spokeswoman would not confirm the speculation. Cindi Berger tells “People,” quote, “I’m not at liberty to discuss her personal life at this time.” Cannon previously discussed their desire to have a child saying, quote, “We’re going to do it, and when we do it we’re going to let you all know.”



“For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow is Enuf” will star Whoopi Goldberg, Janet Jackson, and Kerry Washington. The film is scheduled to premiere on January 14th, 2011.

GARY COLEMAN IN CRITICAL CONDITION

Gary Coleman's family is reporting today (May 28) that he is on life support and unconscious with an intracranial hemorrhage according to the New York Post. They are also reporting that he has not yet undergone surgery as previous reports had indicated because of his grave condition

The 42-year-old former child actor was taken to the hospital after suffering a head injury during a fall. The actor's brother-in-law told TMZ that Coleman is listed in critical condition, saying he was taken from his home in Utah to the hospital around 12:50 p.m. Wednesday.

UPDATE: Gary Coleman has died as the result of injuries he suffered earlier this week, the hospital tells TMZ.
We've learned Gary's wife, Shannon, made the decision to pull life support early this AM.
We're told Coleman died at 12:05 PM MST. He died of a intracranial hemorrhage.
Family members and close friends were at Coleman's side when life support was pulled.
He was 42.

ZOMBIES WILL BE INVADING ATLANTA

AMC’s upcoming original series, The Walking Dead, will begin filming in Atlanta, GA on June 2nd. So far, the network has ordered five episodes in addition to the pilot.

The series is an adaptation of Robert Kirkman’s novels in which an epidemic sweeps the globe and causes the dead to rise and eat the living. The story is not just filming in Atlanta, it is also set in Atlanta.
Locations scouts have chosen the Fairlie-Poplar District of the city to film a majority of the series since there is less traffic, yet it is still visually stimulating
In order to film these scenes, the production will need to close Walton, Forsyth and Poplar Streets. The closure on Walton Street would extend from Cone Street to the west to Broad Street to the east. The closure for Forsyth Street would extend from Marietta Street to the south to Luckie Street to the north. The closure of Poplar would extend from Fairlie Street to the west to Broad Street to the east. The closures would begin at 7PM on Friday, June 11th through 5AM Monday, June 14th and from 7PM on Friday, July 2nd through 5AM, Monday, July 5th.

In the meantime, the production company is still looking for extras to appear as zombies in the series.
But, all extras must attend ZOMBIE SCHOOL! All of the “zombies’ who have been chosen so far have been put through the paces and have already been attending “class” all week, they’ve also been told they can’t discuss anything about the production and may be fired for even the slightest hint about the production on Twitter, FB, etc.

T I SAYS FUCK A MIXTAPE

T.I. said he isn't dissing mixtape DJs or making a disparaging statement about the mixtape circuit by naming his new street project Fuck a Mixtape. Rather, the King of the South said, he's actually going up against people who tried to discourage him from making a mixtape at this point in his multiplatinum, Grammy-winning career.

"Fuck a mixtape" was a common response T.I. got when he started telling people that he was, in fact, going to drop a mixtape before he put out his King Uncaged LP, due in August. Some felt Tip should just focus on the album, while others thought he should do a film. Nah. Tip wanted to give back to the streets.

Katy Hayes was unconscious the entire time — unaware that a common Group A strep infection had set in, eating away at her body.
She was unaware of the incredibly difficult decision her husband made for surgeons to amputate her arms and legs in the hope that they could save her life.
"I decided that I loved her so much that the risk was worth it," Al Hayes said. "And if we came out and I had to spend a lifetime taking care of her that the risk was worth it to say that I didn't give up on her. Right? She's my best friend."
At first, Al admits he wondered if Katy would forgive him. He wondered if she could have a full life without a full body.

No he wasn't on a crack diet , he doesn't even do drugs, 50 Cent lost a lot of weight for his upcoming movie "Things Fall Apart". In the movie 50 Cent plays a football player diagnosed with cancer.

He dropped from 214 pounds to an astonishing 160 with a liquid diet and three-hour-a-day treadmill walks for nine weeks.
"I was starving." Now he's back on tour and says, "I've been eating. I'll be back in shape in no time!"

WHAT DID THREE PEOPLE MURDERED HAVE IN COMMON: THEIR MOBILE PHONE NUMBER

The first owner Vladimir Grashnov – the former CEO of Bulgarian mobile phone company Mobitel which issued the number – died of cancer in 2001 aged just 48.

Despite a spotless business record there were persistent rumours that his cancer had been caused by a business rival using radioactive poisoning.
The number then passed to Bulgarian mafia boss, Konstantin Dimitrov, who was gunned down in 2003 by a lone assassin in the Netherlands during a trip to inspect his £500 million drug smuggling empire.

Dimitrov, who died aged 31, had the mobile with him when he was shot while eating out with a model.
Russian mafia bosses – jealous of his drug smuggling operation – were said to have been behind the killing.
The phone number then passed to Konstantin Dishliev, a crooked businessman, who was gunned down outside an Indian restaurant in Bulgaria's capital Sofia after taking over the jinxed line.
Dishliev, an estate agent, had secretly been running a massive cocaine trafficking operation before his assassination in 2005.
He died after £130 million of the drug was intercepted by police on its way into the country from Colombia.
Since then, the number is understood to have been dormant while police maintained an open file on Dishliev's killing and his smuggling ring.
Now phone bosses are said to have suspended the number for good. Callers now get a recorded message saying the phone is "outside network coverage."
A Mobitel spokesman would only say: "We have no comment to make. We won't discuss individual numbers."
Remind me not to get that phone number, but it could be a case that someone thought the two drug lords worked for the same person and decided to take them both out.

ELLEN IS THE NEW P DIDDY

Ellen DeGeneres added "'American Idol' judge" to her resume last year - and now, she's adding music mogul as well.

The TV star is founding a record label, eleveneleven, with 12-year-old artist Greyson Chance as her first signee, she announced on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" on Wednesday.
The 7th grader, who made a splash online with a viral video of his performance of Lady Gaga's "Paparazzi" and his subsequent performance on "Ellen," was the reason the star decided to take on the new business.
"Greyson ... inspired me to start a record label called eleveneleven. He is my first artist and we are making a record together," she said on Wednesday. Greyson will get guidance from one of the best teams in pop - Guy Oseary, Madonna's manager, and Troy Carter, Lady Gaga's manager, will co-manage the young singer.
Now the whole Americal Idol thing makes sense. Simon has a record label and he was schooling Ellen on the business. That's how you keep the money coming in.

MONKEY SEE MONKEY DO: ANOTHER KKK REENACTMENT INCIDENT

Another Metro Atlanta teacher has been involved in a KKK reenactment controversy. This time the incident happened at a Gwinnett County middle school.

Sweetwater Middle School teacher Stephanie Hunt was told to report to Human Resources after school officials said she allowed students to dress up like KKK members.
School officials said Hunt told her eighth grade class to choose a period in history and act it out for a class project.
The students were in the hallway wearing the KKK robes, when another teacher saw them and reported it.
If we not backwards here in Georgia, I don't know what backwards is. Of all the time periods evereyone knows the whole slavery  KKK issue is very sensitive because things are still going on till this very day. Now it's just the police doing it. Hint Arizona

North Georgia teacher Catherine Ariemma made news after she allowed her students to wear white robes resembling those worn by the KKK when she staged a reenactment in her classroom. It was meant to be a history lesson for her students, but instead, it sparked controversy.

NEW PLANET ABOUT TO BE MELTED

 The Hubble space telescope has discovered a planet in our galaxy in the process of being devoured by the star that it orbits, according to a paper published in The Astrophysical Journal Letters.

The doomed planet, dubbed WASP-12b, has the highest known surface temperature of any planet in the Milky Way -- around 1,500 degrees Celsius (2,800 degrees Fahrenheit).
But it could be enveloped by its own parent star over the next ten million years, the paper's authors have concluded.
Using a new instrument called the Cosmic Origins Spectrograph that was installed on Hubble in 2009, the researchers observed how the planet was whipped into an elongated shape by gravitational forces.
Discovered in 2008, WASP-12b is located about 600 light-years from Earth in the Auriga Constellation and is more than 300 times the size of Earth.

James told ABC news he admits he shattered a seemingly-perfect relationship by having affairs outside his marriage.

Kanye West sightings have been rare lately as he has been holed up in Hawaii working on the follow up to '808's and Heartbreak'.
According to the New York Daily News report, a couple of celebrities were in attendance and enjoyed the album preview.
"Josh Hartnett and Kid Cudi were both there, and they immediately got up and started dancing. Kanye stayed with his own entourage in a corner booth, but looked pretty pleased."

This is the two-year-old Indonesian boy who throws a tantrum when his parents refuse him a cigarette.

Ardi Rizal was given his first cigarette by his father when he was just 18-months-old.
The smoking toddler was witnessed by a reporter who recently visited his home in the fishing village of Musi Banyuasin, in Indonesia's South Sumatra province.
'I'm not worried about his health, he looks healthy,' shrugged the boy's father Mohammad Rizal.
'He cries and throws tantrums when we don't let him smoke. He's addicted.'
Ardi's youth is the extreme of a disturbing trend. Data from the Central Statistics Agency showed 25 per cent of Indonesian children aged three to 15 have tried cigarettes, with 3.2 per cent of those active smokers.
The percentage of five to nine year olds lighting up increased from 0.4 per cent in 2001 to 2.8 per cent in 2004, the agency reported.
A video of a four-year-old Indonesian boy blowing smoke rings appeared briefly on YouTube in March, prompting outrage before it was removed from the site. Hey let him smoke. Maybe then he might lose some weight and not die from heart disease.

POLICE IN TYBEE ALSO ARE TASER HAPPY

On Friday night ,Clifford Grevemberg, a lanky 18-year-old was arrested by Tybee police on a disorderly conduct charge in front of the Rock House on 16th Street.
He says he was Tased twice and thrown to the ground, breaking one of his front teeth and leaving scrapes on
his face and knee.
But Grevemberg, who suffers from a form of autism, still wants to know what he did wrong.
“I just wanted to go to sleep,” the 6-foot-9-inch tall, 170-pound teenager said Saturday. “I sat down on the curb and put my head in my arms, and they stopped me.”
Tybee police officials could not be reached for comment Saturday, despite multiple attempts. Phone messages left for Tybee Chief James Price went unanswered, and a Tybee Police dispatcher said no one could comment on the issue until Monday morning.  cops get tasers and start to get ichy trigger fingers.

AIRPLANE LANDS ON TYBEE ISLAND IN GEORGIA

An amateur pilot from Arkansas has been arrested after landing a small plane on the Tybee Island beach for recreation, according to police.
The single-engine, two-seat aircraft touched sand on Tybee's north end about noon. Two occupants casually climbed out for a walk on the beach, police Lt. Jonathan Hagan said.

"There was nothing mechanically wrong with the plane - they just landed to visit the beach for the day," Hagan said. "It was strictly for pleasure."

The pilot, identified as Mark Jensen, 36, of Arkansas, was arrested on charges of reckless conduct and operating a motorized craft on the beach, Hagan said.
Jensen's mother, the passenger, was not charged.
The pair reported that they'd landed similarly on other beaches in the past.

Google has unveiled its first-ever interactive doodle – a Pac-Man game that Web users can play straight from Google's homepage. On May 22, 1980 the now-iconic Pac-Man gamewas released in Japan by Namco Bandai Games. Originally called Puck Man, Pac-Man launched in the U.S. in October 1980 and went on to sell more than 100,000 units in its first year of production.

The name of the game comes from the sound of eating, according to the official Pac-Man website. "Paku" is the Japanese sound for "chomp."
Now the game is listed by Guinness World Records as the world's most successful coin-operated game.
To help recognize the pop culture mainstay, at 11 a.m. ET today (midnight in Japan), Google turned its homepage over to a Pac-Man game that can be played for the next 48 hours. Now that's longevity.

GOOGLE IS LEAVING YOUR COMPUTER FOR YOUR TV

A "smart" TV that lets users conduct searches and view Internet video and information related to the television program that's on. Or viewers could simply devote the entire TV screen to Web surfing instead of channel surfing.

PARTNERSHIP: Google is providing the software, while Sony will make the TVs with Intel chips, and Logitech will supply a special remote control and wireless keyboard.

LINDSAY LOHAN HEADED FOR JAIL

Lindsay Lohan's last moments of freedom are going to be on the airplane ride home ... this according to a rep for the U.S. Customs and Border Protection who spoke with TMZ.
The rep tells TMZ that anyone who enters the country who has an active warrant in the law enforcement database will be detained by their office, and the originating agency that issued the warrant would be called.
Law enforcement sources in L.A. tell us either the Los Angeles Airport police or the LAPD would then take Lindsay into custody and book her.

MEGAN FOX IS DROPPED FROM TRANSFORMERS

" Megan Fox will not be starring in ' Transformers 3,'" the reps told the mag. "It was her decision not to return. She wishes the franchise the best."
A rep for Megan was not immediately available for comment when contacted by Access Hollywood on Wednesday.
Nikki Finke, who first reported the news for Deadline that Megan was out, claimed that decision was "ultimately" director Michael Bay 's.
Bay's rep was also not immediatley available for comment when contacted by Access.
The news of Megan's departure from the " Transformers 3" cast comes just months after a dispute emerged between Megan, unnamed " Transformers " crewmembers and even the director.
She might have said it's her decision but you canoot talk about the boss and then expect to come back to work. Basicallly she got fired.

DRIVING WITHOUT A LICENSE NO FLYING WITHOUT A LICENSE

A fake Swedish air pilot has been fined $2,500 (£1,700) and banned from flying for 12 months after confessing to flying passenger jets for an astonishing thirteen years without a licence.

Thomas Salme, 41, was made a captain three years after conning his way on to the flight deck of Scandinavian airline Air One.
He was arrested at Amsterdam's Schipol airport in March - while seated in the cockpit of a Corendon Boeing 737 carrying 101 passengers just minutes from take-off.
Officers, who were alerted by a Swedish tip-off, said the man had once had a commercial pilot licence, but it had expired and it never qualified him for passenger flights.
He claimed that he had also flown British, Belgian and Italian airlines, though it is unclear which ones.
Last month he was fined $2,500 (£1,700) and was banned from flying for 12 months by a Dutch court - which noted that in the entire 13 years, he had never caused an accident.
Salme said he secretly trained himself at night on a full-scale flight simulator - and created his own licence with a photocopier. Just like Catch me if you can movie.

This past weekend hip hop heavyweight Young Jeezy brought a lot of smiles to peoples faces as his Street Dreamz Foundation rented out Metrolanes Skate And Bowling Center for a large group of students. This treat was by no means just some random handout, but a reward to these children whose hard work helped them pass the Georgia's Criterion-Referenced Competency Tests. An 87-year-old woman was arrested Thursday after she was caught on tape selling crack cocaine to an undercover deputy.
And it’s not the first time the Pensacola woman has been busted for drugs.
Ola Mae Agee of Pensacola was arrested after the undercover officer bought a $20 piece of crack from her, Sheriff’s Office spokesman Sgt. Ted Roy said. The incident occurred on April 30 at Agee’s home, the Sheriff’s Office said.
A surveillance video of the sale shows the undercover officer knock on the back door of Agee’s home. Agee then answers the door and walks the officer to another room where she retrieves the crack after rummaging through the couch.
The undercover officer counts out $20, including pocket change, which he gives to Agee in exchange for the crack.
In addition to what was sold to the deputy, Agee can be seen in the video holding a small bag of crack cocaine. Roy did not know how much crack was in the bag, and he did not know if additional narcotics were recovered from Agee’s home .

NY DETECTIVE BUSTED

Federal authorities have arrested a 13-year veteran NYPD narcotics detective with violating the civil rights of three women through sexual misconduct.

Oscar Sandino was arrested Tuesday, May 18th.
He forced the girlfriend of a drug suspect to perform oral sex in a police station bathroom.
Prosecutors also allege that Oscar Sandino victimized at least two other women under similar circumstances. He has been removed from active duty since 2008, when the allegations of lewd conduct first arose.
In the summer of 2006, in connection with the arrest of another drug dealer, Sandino is accused of coercing a female cousin of the drug dealer to engage in sex acts with him based on threats he made concerning the lengthy prison sentence faced by the drug dealer.
More recently, in September 2009, Sandino allegedly engaged in lewd sexual behavior in front of a female arrestee and then forced her to raise her shirt to expose her upper body. got to love New York.

Indiana Republican Rep. Mark Souder announced his resignation today after confirming an affair with a female aide.

In a statement, Souder said he "sinned against God, my wife and my family by having a mutual relationship with a part-time member of my staff."
Souder did not identify the woman, but Fox News identified her as Tracy Jackson, according to sources. She is described as part-time aide who worked in a district office, handling communications and periodically traveling with him.
