Deadline Hollywood reports that J.Lo has inked a deal to become a judge on the tenth season of “American Idol,” replacing Ellen DeGeneres who announced her exit today. The singer-actress would serve on the judging panel with Randy Jackson and Kara DioGuardi. Negotiations began months ago, but a deal was not finalized until this week.

Lopez was the celebrity mentor on Latin night during the talent competition’s sixth season. She has been busy recording her next album Love?, set for release on her new home at Island Def Jam. A long as she wears that dress she can judge me anytime.

JESUS SAVES LADY FROM ROBBERY

Incredible storey here. Nayara Goncalves already experienced one of the ``biggest moments'' of her life: becoming a Christian.

The second came last Friday, when the 20-year-old cellphone store manager put her good works to good use -- persuading a would-be armed robber to put away his gun and leave her store in the name of the Lord.
Every moment of the more than five-minute exchange between a calm Goncalves and the nervous, unidentified robber was captured on a store surveillance camera.
The robber walked into the MetroPCS store at 1543 S. Cypress Rd. in Pompano Beach around 10 a.m July 23, wearing a dark cap and jacket and holding an umbrella.
He exchanges pleasantries with Goncalves, asking whether she was keeping dry, then asks to see a phone.
Moments later, he reaches into his coat, apparently showing her a gun. He apologizes: ``I really hate to do this. . . . Don't be scared.''
``I'm not scared,'' replies Goncalves, a devout Christian who was working alone. She calmly walks back to her cash register, telling the man, ``You can do whatever you want, but I'm just going to talk to you about Jesus, my God, before you leave.''
The man momentarily pauses, and says, ``God bless you for that.''
Goncalves tells him she is a Christian. He replies sheepishly, ``So am I and I absolutely hate doing this. I do. I'm embarrassed to do this. But I have no choice.''
He says he has attended Calvary Chapel.
``Calvary Chapel?'' ``Pastor Bob?'' Goncalves asks, saying she has visited there.
Yes, the robber replies, ``Pastor Bob.''
``I'm so sorry to put you through this,'' he says.
Attempts by The Miami Herald Thursday night to reach Pastor Bob Coy at Calvary Chapel in North Broward were unsuccessful.
Goncalves continues to talk to the man, giving soothing responses of ``I know, I know,'' as he opens up about his troubles -- telling Goncalves he's married, has a job, and that he needed $300 to stave off eviction.
As if sensing an opening, Goncalves continues, her voice breaking for a split second, ``I don't know what you're going through. But all of us are going through a hard time right now.''
The man barely looks at her. ``That's why I refuse to do anything out in the streets. I've never done this before.''
She offers to connect him with friends to help him find a job.
He says he had one.
She suggests he seek a loan from a friend.
He says he spent the last three days trying to do that, to no avail.
``I'm not very good at this obviously. If there's no money in the register, can you show me?''
The man reasons that since she doesn't own the store, ``I wouldn't be hurting you.''
But her single break from the gospel truth comes when she gently fibs that her employer would take any stolen money out of her pay.
He throws in the towel.
``I don't want to do that to you. I'm sorry,'' he says, turning to walk away. ``I understand you still have to call the police . . . ''
Ever calm, Goncalves calls out to him as he walks off. ``You know you don't need to do that. You know Jesus. He can help you!''
He blesses her a second time.
Emboldened, Goncalves urges him to ``go back to church.'' Before leaving the storefront, he calls back: ``You know one thing? Good is coming your way for what you did today.''
Then he confesses: ``You wanna know something? It's not real. It's a BB gun. That's how great I am at this.''
She urges him to ``be careful, have a good one. May God bless you.''
And he was gone.
Broward sheriff's deputies are looking for a mustachioed male, five-foot, nine inches, in his late-30s to mid-40s and possibly armed.
``I haven't seen anything like this in 14 years,'' said BSO spokeswoman Veda Coleman-Wright. ``She really seemed to have no fear.''
Goncalves said the man seemed to have lost all hope.
``To tell you the truth, I believe him when he said he wasn't a bad guy -- like a criminal all the time. I believe that he was just desperate, like he said.''

FORMER NBA PLAYER LORENZEN WRIGHT FOUND DEAD

Lorenzen Wright was remembered Thursday as a fun-loving personality who helped mentor the young Atlanta Hawks during his most recent stint with the team, 2006-08. Wright's body was found Wednesday in a wooded area of southeast Memphis. He had been missing for about 10 days. The 34-year-old Wright was last seen in the early morning of July 19, right before he was to head back to his Atlanta townhouse with a friend and his six children. His family filed a missing person report July 22.

The Memphis Commercial Appeal reports that a 911 call made on July 19 from Wright's cellphone recorded loud gunshot blasts from what appeared to be several weapons before the call ended.
Wright recently flew from Atlanta to Memphis to visit friends and his children, friends said.
He was last seen at about 2 a.m. July 19, leaving his ex-wife’s Whisperwood Drive home, the newspaper said.
His former wife told police she doesn’t know who he left with or what type of car they were in, according to the missing person’s report. A friend estimated Wright was carrying $2,000 to $3,000 in big bills.
Wright was also going through some financialdifficulties of late. His custom-built 17-room home in Eads, Tenn., was repossessed in May for $1.3 million, and that his Atlanta house was repossessed in January for $1.1 million.

TWO BALD HEADS ONE TEAM

Terrell Owens(notes) has agreed to terms with the Cincinnati Bengals. The Bengals will pay Owens a guaranteed $2 million in 2010, with another possible $2 million in incentives.

Rumors had been running hard about this deal taking place ever since the St. Louis Rams bowed out of the bidding on Monday after showing interest in the 36-year-old receiver. The Bengals had signed Antonio Bryant(notes) to a four-year, $28 million contract in March of this year, but there has been ongoing concern about the veteran's surgically repaired knee. The team's pursuit of Owens would seem to indicate that there's more to that story than we may have heard.
In Cincinnati, Owens won't have to be the No. 1 receiver he isn't capable of being anymore, but he can be a great complementary presence in Cincy's balanced offense. And he will team with Chad Ochocinco(notes) to provide the first receiver rotation in NFL history with not one, but two reality shows on the air at the same time. So they are teammates on the field and off the field at VH1.

CHRIS TUCKER TO JOIN WESLEY SNIPES IF HE'S NOT CAREFUL

According to TMZ, the Internal Revenue Service filed documents with the L.A. County Recorder's Office yesterday, which show Tucker owes $11,571,909.26 in federal taxes for the years 2001, 2002 and 2004 through 2006.

TOLD YALL MEXICO IS NO JOKE

The warden of a prison in the northern state of Durango is under arrest on suspicion she let inmates leave the facility to carry out killings in the nearby city of Torreon, the Mexican Attorney General’s Office said.

In custody along with warden Margarita Rojas Rodriguez are her deputy, Francisco Carlos Alberto Uranga, and prison security chiefs Roberto Enriquez Aguayo and Jose Guadalupe Diaz Ordaz, as well as several guards.
The prison personnel are charged in connection with more than 30 deaths in Torreon, including last week’s massacre of 17 people attending a birthday party at a rented hall, AG office spokesman Ricardo Najera said.
Rojas is accused of allowing inmates to leave Cereso Dos prison at night to carry out killings with active help from some of the guards.
The inmates returned to their cells after the crimes.
“The criminals commit their executions as part of settling scores with members of bands linked to organized crime,” Najera said, adding that a search of Cereso Dos prison turned up four assault rifles used in the July 18 killings at Torreon’s Italia Inn.
Sunday’s arrests came days after the appearance on the Internet of a video in a which a Lerdo, Durango, police officer confesses to being on the payroll of a crime boss and points to warden Rojas’ alleged role in the Torreon murders

DRUGS FOUND IN PAINTING

Gordon Clement, of Cherokee County, said he found thousands of dollars worth of drugs hidden in the painting.

The 80-year-old recounted how he discovered 4 pounds of marijuana stashed inside the frame of the painting he owns.
Clement bought the painting at a post office auction about five years ago. He discovered the drugs last weekend while trying to sell the artwork at another auction. Clement wanted $25 for the painting.

“It didn’t sell,” said Clement. But while a family member was lifting the painting back into the truck, they felt something moving inside. A worker then pried open the back with a screwdriver.
“And that’s when the discovery was made … 4 pounds of marijuana inside the picture frame,” said Clement.
“I didn’t know what to do,” said Clement.
Clement’s lawyer told him to call police, which he did. Investigators told Clement that the pot was worth $4,800.
So since the pot was 5 years old, is it still good enough to smoke? I mean does weed has an expiration date?

A family are celebrating after discovering the daughter they were told had died in a car crash is alive after a hospital mix-up.
However, the news meant heartache for the parents of the girl's best friend - as it emerged it was their daughter who died in the accident.
Abby Guerra’s funeral was due to take place today after her parents were told she had been killed in the crash along with another friend.
However, on Saturday, hospital officials in Glendale, Arizona, announced the 19-year-old was alive and in a coma.
A mix up at the crash scene had led to the talented young football player being mistaken for her best friend, 21-year-old Marlena Cantu.
Abby had suffered severe head injuries, a broken back and punctured lung and was unrecognisable due to facial swelling and having her head shaved for a brain operation.
Marlena’s family had maintained a bedside vigil after being told she was in a critical condition while Abby’s friends and family were told to prepare the teenager's funeral.
Staff at Evansville College in Indiana where Abby was a star member of the soccer team posted an online tribute as they mourned her death.
It wasn't until dental records were finally checked that authorities realised there had been a mix-up.
The young woman lying in a coma in a Phoenix hospital was Abby while Marlena had died at the scene of the crash.
The victims had been returning from a trip to Disneyland in LA when their 4x4 suffered a rear tyre blow-out.
Tyler Parker, 20, also died at the scene.
Abby’s aunt Dorenda Cisneros said the family was overjoyed she had survived, but felt sympathy for the Cantu family. The video when you jump.

LADY DIES AFTER GORGING ON BUCKETS OF CHICKEN

Like I always say, you can't make this stuff up. A MUM revealed in The Sun to be Britain's fattest woman at 45st (630 pounds) has died after secretly GORGING in hospital.

Sharon Mevsimler, 40, was on a strict diet in Chelmsford, Essex, but had family buckets of chicken and fish and chips smuggled in.
She died of a heart attack nine days after we told of the five-footer's grub addiction.
Sharon begged her family to sneak take-aways into the hospital where she was on a strict diet and horrified witnesses saw relatives smuggling fast food to the gorging mum of four.
And she was so huge that a trolley COLLAPSED as she was wheeled to the mortuary

CROOKED COPS IN PHILLY

On Friday ALHINDE WEEMS paid the price when he was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Joel Slomsky to 15 years - the mandatory minimum but within sentencing guidelines - in a federal lockup.
The sentencing of Weems came little more than a week after a federal indictment last week of three Philadelphia police officers who were accused of stealing 300 grams of heroin from a drug supplier in exchange for $10,000 cash from an accused drug dealer.
Weems is the latest in a cadre of ex-Philly cops - after Malik Snell and Rickie Durham - to be sentenced in the last year to federal prison on corruption and drug-related charges.
Snell received a 30-year sentence and Durham got a two-year sentence. (Federal prosecutors are appealing Durham's sentence.)
Weems, who pleaded guilty in January to distribution of crack, attempting to rob a drug dealer and related weapons offenses, had been a 5 1/2-year veteran of the force, working in West Philadelphia's 18th Police District and making $62,330 a year. Now maybe when he getas out he will drop a mixtape too.

MAN BREAKS INTO BAR TO REOPEN IT

A homeless man allegedly broke into a California bar and served drinks to unsuspecting patrons all weekend -- before police came calling.

The bar, called the Valencia Club, had gone out of business for some time and its liquor license had expired, police said this week.
But the suspect, Travis Lloyd Kevie, 29, somehow got into the California establishment in the Penryn area of Sacramento Valley last week. He reopened the bar using beer he bought from a nearby store.
Kevie allegedly started with a six-pack of beer and used money he received to buy more alcohol.
He kept the bar open for a weekend serving about 30 customers a day, authorities said.
He was so successful that a local newspaper did a story about the bar reopening.
A+ for creativity but gets an F for not quitting while he's ahead.

Dramatic video footage captured a bison attacking a Utah woman at Yellowstone National Park.

Cathy Hayes, 49, of Farr West, injured July 19 while filming bison near Biscuit Basin near Old Faithful, according to the Billings Gazette. Hayes estimated she got as close as 10 yards to film the video when the bison charged, the paper said.
CBS said the video shows the animal was apparently provoked when it was hit on the back with a stick.
Hayes, who was filming with her brother-in-law, told CBS' "Early Show" co-anchor Chris Wragge the bison "flipped me end-over-end like a rag doll, in the air."
CBS said Hayes injured her knee while her brother-in-law broke his shoulder trying to escape. Hayes' husband, who was in their car, was not hurt. This is funny people should know not to mess with wild animals

Police said the man pointed a gun – not a light sabre – at the teller and demanded money.
Surveillance video caught the character wearing a cape and mask. Minutes later, witnesses saw Vader come barreling out of the bank.
The robbery comes a week after another robber, dubbed the "bouquet bandit," held up a Manhattan bank. Before he left he sais, Luke I am your Robber!! Just kidding.

DEAD JELLYFISH STILL STINGING PEOPLE

New Hampshire authorities say about 100 people have been stung by a large dead jellyfish that broke into pieces at a state park beach, and nine children were treated at a hospital. Rye Fire Department Lieutenant says the jellyfish fell apart when the state park staff tried to remove it on Wednesday, and its stingers were still active even though it was dead. So don't mess with jellyfish, dead or alive.

SOUP NAZI IS BACK

Al Yeganeh, who rose to fame thanks to being portrayed as a "Soup Nazi" on a 1995 episode of "Seinfeld," reopened his store on Tuesday, much to the glee of soup fans and devotees of the hit TV sitcom alike. According to Reuters, about 100 people lined up in the 90-degree heat -- some for as long as an hour -- just to get a taste of Yeganeh's famed soup. This soup better be good.

Both on the TV show and in real life, Yegenah -- who self-branded himself "The Original SoupMan" -- is as known for his strict ordering process as he was for his delicious soups. For 20 years, starting in 1984, Yeganeh was the owner of Soup Kitchen International on 55th Street near 8th Avenue in Manhattan. Riding the popularity of his "Seinfeld" portrayal, he shut down the popular business in 2004 so he could pursue franchise opportunities. IDIOT DIED BY LETTING FRIEND SHOOT HIM

Listen to this. A Dallas man died while executing a twisted plot to win custody of his child, Dallas police said.

According to investigators, 20-year-old Dwayne Lamont Moten hired a friend to shoot him, intending to blame the crime on his wife's boyfriend and gain custody of his 3-year-old son, Dwayne Jr.
"[This] was two individuals trying to frame a third individual," Sr. Cpl. Kevin Janse said.
Janse said the plan was that Jacob Wheeler, also 20, would shoot Moten but only injure him.
However, the bullets that struck Moten on Saturday mortally wounded the forlorn father.
He was actually planning on shooting him in the thigh and shoulder," Dallas homicide SGT. Bruce McDonald said. "I don't know if [Moten] flinched and turned sideways a little more. The bullet entered the chest cavity and was fatal."
"He drove a short distance before he realized he was shot a little worse than he had planned and got out of his car, and was screaming for help," Janse said.
Witness Michael Brown said he did what he could to help.
"Only thing we seen was this young man stopped in the middle of the street, and he got out hollering, 'Man, I been shot. Somebody help me,'" Brown said. "When he hit the ground there was no more conversation going."
Moten soon died from his injuries.
Wheeler is charged with murder and for an unrelated aggravated robbery charge. He remains in jail on a $750,000 bond.
Police said both Moten and Wheeler had a criminal history and had been convicted of felonies.

LEBRON PENDANT SHOWS UP AT YARD SALE

Vaneisha Robinson  paid $5 for a pendant in the shape of LeBron James' number 23 jersey at a yard sale four years ago.

Robinson thought it was costume jewelry until she had it appraised and certified by International Gemological Institute, which said the diamond-studded, gold jewelry was real and valued at nearly $10,000.
The amateur boxer put the pendant up for sale on eBay, hoping to use the proceeds to open her own gym.
On Wednesday, Robinson said she got a phone call that turned her dream into a nightmare. Robinson said it was Katherine L. Powers, the mother of Maverick O. Carter. Carter is the CEO of LeBron James' marketing company, LRMR.
"[Powers] said that LeBron James was at her house and they wanted me to come over there. They were going to make me an offer that I couldn't refuse," Robinson said.
It turned out the one-of-a-kind pendant belongs to Carter, who claims it was stolen. Robinson said she and her mother went to the Wadsworth house Carter shares

SOME WOMEN KILL FOR BIG BREAST, WELL BIG BREAST ARE KILLING HER

A Brazilian model who lives in Houston wanted to have the largest breasts in the world; she must now undergo surgery and is in the fight for her life.

Sheyla Hershey was able to achieve her goal of having the largest breasts in the world when she had M-cup implants put into place. She soon removed them and downgraded to a smaller size when she learned she was pregnant in 2009.
After more than 30 plastic surgeries, Hershey suffered her first complication following her most recent breast
augmentation procedure in June. Her youngest child's first birthday was only days away.
A severe staph infection reached both of Hershey's breasts.
She had the augmentation surgery in Brazil, but came home to Houston for help. Hershey says the new surgeon told her she should be concerned for her life. Staph infections can enter the bloodstream and be life threatening. Hershey is also very concerned about losing one of her breasts. She has had to give herself infusions of intravenous antibiotics every twelve hours to fight the infection.
