A BAN ON SOCIAL NETWORKS
A New Jersey public school principal has had enough of the harm — from sexual predators or mean girls — that can come to young teens on sites like Facebook and MySpace. So Anthony Orsini, principal at Benjamin Franklin Middle School in Ridgewood, N.J., wants kids blocked from the sites at school and at home.
Orsini told “Good Morning America” today that the online taunting used to be limited to students in eighth grade or higher. Now he’s seeing kids as young as fourth grade creating Facebook pages to bash a classmate. “It’s become meaner and meaner and they don’t understand they aren’t socially and emotionally ready to understand. We see the times that things are posted on line — 2:30 in the morning, 1:30 in the morning, students are supposed to be asleep at that time.” You can try but you can't stop the social networking trend. That's like trying to win the war on drugs. You can slow it down but demand is too high.

A steamroller has crushed about 7,000 fake Rolex watches in Philadelphia under the orders of federal authorities seeking to deter would-be counterfeiters. Customs officials staged the destruction Monday to highlight law enforcement's role in protecting intellectual property rights.
Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials say the watches were seized from Binh Cam Tran, who pleaded guilty last year to charges including trafficking in counterfeit goods.
Tran is serving six years in federal prison. He has been ordered to pay more than $2.2 million to the Rolex Co.
Authorities say Tran fabricated hundreds of thousands of fake Rolex watches in his home near Philadelphia. Officials seized about 24,000 counterfeit watches and enough parts to create 1 million more.

Actor Randy Quaid and his wife, Evi, were booked into the Santa Barbara County, California, jail Monday after they showed up for a hearing on accusations that they defrauded an innkeeper and failed to pay a hotel bill.
A judge set bail at $100,000 each for the actor and his wife, who missed several previous hearing dates, Santa Barbara District Attorney Arnie Tolks said.
The judge did give them each $20,000 credit for a previous bond, but unless they can get make the remaining $80,000 each, they must stay in jail until another hearing Wednesday, Tolks said. Man I wish they were still on the run. They kinda made things interesting for the Hollywood set.

DON'T LET THIS LADY PARK YOUR CAR
Where did this lady get her license from? Last October, the 62-year old driver was attempting to park her Bavarian SUV at Extreme Fitness. Instead of coming to a controlled stop, Kaushal launched her 'ute onto the row of parked cars across from her, backed off and then drove away. Luckily, the gym had parking lot surveillance, and police eventually nabbed the woman.
On Tuesday, Kaushal pleaded guilty to failing to report a collision, and was issued a $500 fine. Even better, the lady has been banned from driving between the hours of 7 p.m. and 7 a.m., so you can bet your parking lot will be safe from dusk 'till dawn. The court also ordered her to pay restitution for the cars her X5 demolished. I bet she was talking on the cellphone while parking.

Microsoft says it's not responsible for an Internet ad for its search engine, that showed an image of murdered 7-year-old, Somer Thompson.
The little girl was abducted and killed near her Orange park home last year, and her picture had been showing up on an advertisement for Microsoft's BING search engine. Microsoft says the ad was actually provided through Yahoo's advertising partner, and they are aware of the situation. So far Yahoo has not commented on the situation. Some web advertisers use randomly generated images to drive traffic to those ads. Those images are sometimes based on pictures associated with popular web searches. It's not clear if that was the case with this ad, or if the image was used purposefully.

MAN DRINKS RAW MILK AND IS PARALYZED
A 67-year-old man from Mars, Pa., is on life support at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, and his family is convinced it's because of the raw milk he consumed more than a month ago.
"I heard about all the health benefits," said the man's wife, Maureen Orchard. "We thought we were doing something good for ourselves."
James Orchard was diagnosed with Guillain-Barré syndrome (GBS), a disorder in which the body's immune system attacks part of the peripheral nervous system. Except for minimal head and eye movement, Orchard is totally paralyzed.
Several days before the onset of his illness, Orchard and other members of his family consumed raw milk purchased at the McGinnis Sisters Special Foods Store. The raw milk was produced by Dean Farms doing business as Pasture Maid, LLC, a creamery located in New Castle.

RIHANNA HITS THE HOSPITAL
Rihanna, who is scheduled to perform at Philips Arena this summer, fell ill after a concert in Zurich and was briefly hospitalized, MTV UK reports.
The site said the singer “was treated for an unknown condition after being taken from Zurich’s Hallenstadion venue to a private clinic at midnight.”
This all happened Monday, but it looks like she’s been cleared to continue the tour. She apparently left the medical facility not long after she was taken there. I don't the fascination with Rihanna but she takes a hell of a picture.

HEATHER LOCKLEAR IN HIT AND RUN
The Ventura County Sheriff tells ET that actress Heather Locklear was arrested after she allegedly knocked over a "no parking" sign and fled the scene.
According to police, the accident took place on Saturday in Westlake Village, Calif. near Locklear's home. A resident of Locklear's community heard a commotion around 4 a.m. Saturday morning but did not report the incident till the next day after finding debris and the sign that had been knocked down.
Police traced the debris back to Locklear's 2005 black BMW. The sheriff tells ET that the actress was not taken into custody but given a citation, She was probably drunk again somewhere.

Apparently someone is willing to. According to Hamptons.com, a palatial estate in Bridgehampton, N.Y., has been rented out for $500,000 for two weeks. That works out to more than $35,000 a night, making it the highest price ever paid for a Hamptons rental.
Of course, Corcoran Group, which rented the place, won't disclose the name of the renter. And it isn't clear if the renter really is a Wall Streeter. A post on Newsday.com said a person close to the deal said the renter is "no one famous nor a company looking to do a big event, just a family willing to fork over $500,000 for their two-week stay."

This photo and others like it were smuggled out of the KYE Systems factory at Dongguan, China, as part of a three-year investigation by the National Labour Committee, a human rights organisation which campaigns for workers across the globe.
The mostly female workers, aged 18 to 25, work from 7.45am to 10.55pm, sometimes with 1,000 workers crammed into one 105ft by 105ft room.
They are not allowed to talk or listen to music, are forced to eat substandard meals from the factory cafeterias, have no bathroom breaks during their shifts and must clean the toilets as discipline, according to the NLC.
The workers also sleep on site, in factory dormitories, with 14 workers to a room. They must buy their own mattresses and bedding, or else sleep on 28in-wide plywood boards. They 'shower' with a sponge and a bucket.
And many of the workers, because they are young women, are regularly sexually harassed, the NLC claimed.
The organisation said that one worker was even fined for losing his finger while operating a hole punch press.
Microsoft is not the only company to outsource manufacturing to KYE, but it accounts for about 30 per cent of the factory's work, the NLC said. Companies such as Hewlett-Packard, Samsung, Foxconn, Acer, Logitech and Asus also use KYE Systems.
Even though we all know this is going on, where else are you going to buy electronics from. Everything is made in China.

In my never ending quest to destroy the Ipad, Here are more reasons I wouldn't get caught dead with the device. I know I'm giving them shine by posting about it all the time but I still hate it.
Denver Police released shocking surveillance video Tuesday of a thief stealing a brand new iPad from a man in the Cherry Creek Mall, ripping off his left pinky finger in the process.
Bill Jordan says he didn't even know what an iPad was, but his company asked him to pick one up as a business gift for a co-worker.
So last Thursday, he went to the Apple store in the upscale Cherry Creek Mall, in the middle of the afternoon, to buy one.
"I kind of wrapped it around my fingers so I didn't drop it on the way out," he told us. "It was a heavy duty bag they put it in, and had real thick cords."
The mall security cameras show Jordan as he leaves the store, walks down the stairs and heads toward the exit. He's carrying the iPad in a bag.
The suspect follows Jordan as he walks out the door.
"The next thing I know, I'm spun around. I see this kid, his rear end almost on the ground, and he's pulling it out of my hand. I just remember seeing this kid pulling and pulling and pulling till it got caught. Took the flesh right off and the tendons and everything. There was nothing but bone."

GMAIL ACCOUNTS GETTING HACKED
This happened to me so I know it can happen to anybody. Google is investigating a growing number of reports that hackers are breaking into legitimate Gmail accounts and then using them to send spam messages.
The problem started about a week ago but seems to have escalated over the past few days.
"The Gmail team takes security very seriously and is investigating the reports we've seen in our user forums over the past few days," Google said Tuesday in an e-mailed statement. "We encourage users who suspect their accounts have been compromised to immediately change their passwords and to follow the advice at the following page: http://www.google.com/help/security/."

JAMES BOND ON HOLD
Being a big James Bond fan, I hope they can get this situation straightened out. The next James Bond movie will be delayed indefinitely due to "uncertainty" from the still unfinished auction of MGM, the movie studio behind the film series, producers said on Monday.
The so far untitled movie, which will be the 23rd in the series about the British spy, had been due for release in 2011 or 2012.
James Bond is one of MGM's most lucrative franchises.
But if they can't resolve the issue I guess we have to wait for the next Austin Powers flick.
